Hi there fellas

So, the school year has ended. The holidays have begun. Gosh, I'm gonna miss my schoolmates! Most of them are such cool people! (Big hugs and kisses for all of you! ) I hope I'll manage to meet often with them and visit my school from time to time! I guess you begin to appreciate the post-primary school when you have to leave it Life is life, we all have to go through this somehow. But I was really sad during the last days at school... In September I'm going to a secondary school, bilingual class (7 hours of French per week, 6 subjects in French ), I'm quite sure I'll meet some new nice people there But coming back to the last days at post-primary school, I have to tell you something AWSOME! There's an award in my school, called Wspaniały Gimnazjalista. I have no idea how to translate it in a good way which won't sound too stupid and too sophisticated, but I can tell you what's up with the award. There are 7 categories: humanistic subjects, science subjects, charity, school government, sport, art and merit award – the most important one, for everything you've done during the 3 years at post-primary school. This year there were only about 12 candidates, not more than 3 in every category. About 10 got nominations. Including me! I was the candidate in 2 categories (you can start in max. 3 categories and get only 1 award) – school government and merit award. I had no opponents in the first category, but I had two in the second. Both of them my friends I believe it was really hard to the award committee (headmistress of my school + a few teachers + a few students) to choose who should win. Every year, a day before the end of the school year there's organized a huge gala in the art centre/theatre (in my city) called Impart. Everything's prepared by my school. And the awards are given to the winners right there. There are about 500 people on the ceremony! It's so touching. It's the official gala prepared for the students who are about to leave the school. It lasts about 3 hours and there are given awards, the diplomas of finishing school, there are also some artistic performances. It's great! I've seen 3 galas in Impart in my life and the one prepared this year was the best! Anyway, I wanted to tell you what's with the award. My friends who were nominated mostly got the award (in the art category there were even two winners!) and I... I GOT THE MERIT AWARD! I'm so happy! My school finally appreciated everything I've done during the three years. The award is a title of the winner, a statuette (pretty one I must admit with my name written on it!) and a diploma And an eternal fame and remembrance... Ok, only joking But anyway, I'm so happy, I still hardly believe it!
Maybe I told you I had exams this year... I got 94 points out of 100! And 36 out of 40 to the bilingual class! Generally, I have 125/140 enrolment points. In Poland we have to collect as many enrolment points as we can, otherwise we might not get to a school we want :\ Stupid system. The points are given due to the marks, exams, competitions and our activity at school, for example in charity or school government.

What about holidays? Well, this year they're gonna be FUN FUN FUN And I believe they'll be amazing! On 5th July I'm going for two weeks to French Riviera (Côte d'Azur ) to visit Cannes, Nice, Monte Carlo, Antibes etc. I can't wait! Then, I have 4 weeks free (I probably will visit my grandmas then or my friends from France and Belgium might come and visit me and my family in Poland. I hope the second thing will come off! I miss them so much!!! It would be so cool if they could come ). And finally, one day after my birthday, I'm going to Spain, for a 10-day school camp, with some of the people from my school and my Polish teacher. We're going to Lloret de Mar! And we're going to visit lots of places! I've been to Catalonia before and I loved it (it was 5 or 6 years ago, so I really want to visit it once again!). There's especially one thing amazingly exiting for me Visitng Camp Nou! FC Barcelona stadium! I'm a big fan of this football team for 4 years (I guess?). Even though they're not playing the best now, I'm going to be loyal. They're my favourite team of all time On the second place there's AC Milan though
You know, I'm such a football fan! And now there are Euro 2008 championships! I'm watching almost all the matches. Poland of course was the worst team (I supported it at the beginning though), but I have to support someone, so I chose Spain! Yesterday they won with Italy WOO HOO I hope they'll beat Russia. Though I'm not sure if it's possible, yesterday's match with Italy was awful, both teams were too afraid to play at the beginning, and at the end they were too tired! Naaah, definitely I didn’t like it :/ Hope the Spanish will finally show what they can really do!

Noooow, what I wanted to tell you… Oh yes! NEW PHOTO EQUIPMENT! I have to share my joy with you, sorry My dad bought a new lens for us! Sigma 105mm/2.8 macro! And it's fantastic! I've already taken a few test shots using it and I totally love it. A few weeks ago we also sold our 50mm/1.7 and bought 50mm/1.4 which is also super cool And we made bigger our collection of filters – we have Cokin Gradual Tobacco! I love using it! Especially with Cokin Gradual Grey. And I hate when some people don't read Artist's Description of the picture and ask if I have done it in Photoshop or Picasa
Hahaha now we have to buy a big bag for all the lenses and other things

I haven't suggested any DDs recently, but I will soon, I promise! I'm working on my website too, but I'm too lazy to finish it, so you will see it probably in July Or even in August. Anyway, talking about the Daily Deviations, a Gallery Director of Conceptual Photography has left his post (`Pete-B you were great! ), so some of my suggestions sent to him weren't noticed. I'll send them again to another GD soon

Ahh, even it's summer holiday right now, I don't have much time. I'm meeting with my friends almost every day, then I'm going to the places I've mentioned at the beginning of this super-long journal entry (). And during the new school year I'll be having so little free time! Bilingual class is a HUGE thing And I'm going to continue on learning Spanish. So I won’t write my journal very often. In fact, I'll probably never write it as often as I did some time ago... Well, a long time ago. But I promise you I won't give up reading all the messages, looking at and faving deviations and all that kind of stuff Real life is quite involving and interesting actually But dA is also and important thing to me, so I won't leave you especially when I have so many great friends here! I still have about 200 journals to look through in my message center, I have a lot of links in my browser to look through (lots of dA galleries!) and I don't comment on every deviation, but I try to do my best. Oh, and I decided not to thank for the feature every single person in my journal. From now on I'll thank you all only by commenting your news articles or journal with features and looking at other featured pics
